Energy Innovations, a developer of HCPV commercial solar products, is making the use of Abaqus finite element analysis (FEA) software.
Acknowledging the utility of the solution, Mindy Jacobson, Lead Engineer, Energy Innovations said Abaqus FEA provides the usability the company needs to evaluate realistic performance during the design phase.
By using Abaqus FEA to simulate the effects of nonlinear materials and loads such as gravity, wind, and shipping loads on its designs, Energy Innovations has been able to optimise its concentrating photovoltaic design product. Regarding its flagship product line, the Sunflower, the company says it is the first and only solar concentrator to earn a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) listing.
Simulia is Dassault Systèmes’ brand that delivers a portfolio of realistic simulation solutions including the Abaqus product suite. Abaqus FEA offers analysis capabilities that are used to evaluate real-world performance earlier in the development cycle.
