Concentrix Solar contributes with its FLATCON® technology to the construction of the ecological “MASDAR City” in Abu Dhabi

Concentrix Solar has been awarded a contract to participate with its FLATCON systems in a concentrator photovoltaic project in the framework of the MASDAR initiative in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
 

Morgan Solar raises $4.7m, plans pilot manufacturing facility

Solar energy start-up Morgan Solar has raised $4.7 million from Iberdrola Group, Nypro and Turnstone Capital Management.


Nypro, a plastics and injection molding company, has invested in Morgan Solar through its wholly owned subsidiary New Ventures Group. Investors will fund Morgan Solar’s migration from research and development to manufacturing.

SolFocus signs deal with Portuguese utility

Portuguese utility Águas de Portugal (ADP) has signed an agreement for the installation of 8.5 MW of peak power (MWp) of CPV technology.


ADP, which plans to invest over €830 million by 2014 in renewable energy projects, with a goal of covering 3% of the electrical needs, has chosen to work with SolFocus.
